One of the fragrances that started my love for the Jardin collection by Hermes. Because it has one of the most beautiful fig notes in perfumery. Hermes is one of the oldest fashion brands and is still very well respected, nearly 2 centruries later. Eau d’Hermes made its debut in 1951 and ever since the house had unstoppable demand for more. Caleche, Equipage, Amazone, Bel Ami all paved their way to the modern creations including Un Jardin and Hermessence series.
Un Jardin en Méditerranée Is succulent green fig framed by juicy citruses and is smelling like summer holidays in Tuscany. Being first of the creations of Jean-Claude Ellena for Hermes it was perfect then as it is now.
For a brand with a long history of producing gorgeous fragrances, their private collection that it’s more upscale and more expensive never fully captivated me. I find that Hermes real gems are in the regular “sold anywhere” portion of the catalogue. There is only on or two Private blends that are worth looking into in my opinion.
