FRAGRANCE DU BOIS SOLSTICE

Fragrance Du Bois Solstice starts off with rather masculine freshness reminding me of various fragrances all at once. Roja Oceania, LV Meteore, Guerlain Herbes Troublantes, MFK Masculin Pluriel to name a few. Composition start is definitely not new and not exciting. About an hour later things start to change. Neroli and nutmeg come into play making the metallic freshness of citruces take a break. Changes are very subtle and quiet, but fragrance progression is there.

Transitions from the mid to base notes is my favorite part because on my skin this scent gets warmer and fluffier and dare I say milky. Almost like neroli ice-cream decorated with ylang flowers somewhere at the beaches of Bali.

It is hard for me to classify because I want to say it is cologne style but vanillic creaminess in the base doesn’t add up in my head what I typically preceive as cologne. To me, the devil is in the details, and I’d easily pick Solstice over Meteore and Oceania because FDB release shows more interesting curves on my skin and for failry similar price segment it lasts nearly twice as long as LV and Roja.

Yes it is tamed in comparison, but the total longevity top to bottom is beyond good. My advice, do try this one on skin and give it time to develop before final judgements. Book cover is never enough to tell you the full story.

What was your experience with Fragrance Du Bois Solstice so far?

Hugs, Kati
